Deena Waisberg Freelance writer

You need a writer, and here you are at my web site. How fortunate because if you're looking for a communications specialist who can capture the attention of a reader, I'm your wordsmith.

With more than 20 years of experience, I can take even the sketchiest idea and transform it into compelling copy that is targeted to a specific audience. If I can make vacuum cleaners sound sexy–and I have–then I can certainly communicate your message with style.

I write web copy, newsletters, brochures, annual reports, executive biographies, company case studies, advertorial, corporate video scripts, sales letters, packaging copy, banner ads and more.

Whether I'm writing about doing business in Ontario for the Ministry of Economic Development and Innovation or about the latest product features and benefits for GE Profile appliances, I apply diligence and bring enthusiasm to the job. You'll like working with me because I follow creative briefs, respect deadlines and respond well to feedback. I also understand that copy needs to do more than make a clever statement; it needs to reflect a business objective.

If project management is required, I can provide that service as well. Recently, I worked with the senior management team at a government agency to produce a business plan on a tight timeline. Creating a workable schedule and implementing an efficient review process were key to the project's success.

Though I now focus on corporate work, I still write articles once in a while. I started my career as a journalist and my byline has appeared in many major publications, including: Reader's Digest, CA Magazine, Canadian Living, National Post, The Globe and Mail and Toronto Star. Through journalism, I've interviewed people and had experiences I never would have -- inlcuding swinging on a flying trapeze 24 feet above the ground.

I think I write well. Of course, I'm biased but others seem to agree. This year, I was nominated for a National Magazine Award and a Kenneth R. Wilson Award for an article I wrote about how to manage staff. And in 2008, I was nominated for a Kenneth R. Wilson Award for an article I wrote on the CSI Effect.

But enough about me. What about your needs? If you're visisting my web site, you must have an assignment that requires writing services. To discuss how I can help you, please contact me at deenawaisberg@rogers.com.
